I have a Sapphire HD4850 graphics and want to upgrade. Can anyone tell places in Bangalore where I can resell/exchange computer hardware?

There are many places in bangalore where you can exchange your hardware. but the price that you will get is questionable.

Try hardware shops on SP road in KR road. you will get an idea. you can also try the computer gallery stores near kaveri theater junction.

I’ve noticed the macbooks our preety good, but don’t contain the same graphics power as other simirlarly priced notebooks.

Yeah, for around the same price, you can get a Dell XPS gaming laptop. The macbook is pretty good, but has a crappy integrated card with shared memory.

For around the same price, you can get a Dell XPS notebook with an 8600GT with 256mb of dedicated memory. The XPS is a much better deal

Global numbers are great, im looking for a a % of total laptop produced in the world and how many of those laptops have integrated webcams in them?

2-4 % Maybe.

My sister wants an external hardrive for her laptop for Chrismas….
My boss suggested this website, and it all says desktop external hardrives. But just wanted to check, they are OK for laptops.

My sister will only really be storing music and film and the occasional work thing. So do you think this one would be OK?

Thanks for advice and any tips!

Most external hard disks connect via USB. Some use Firewire (1394) and some eSATA. USB is by far the most common, and Firewire next most common.

Any external hard disk called "Desktop" will work fine with your sisters laptop as long as you buy one that uses a port type her laptop has. There are very few laptops that don’t have USB. You’re best bet is to make sure her laptop has USB and get a USB external hard disk.

Also, make sure the external disk supports USB-2.0 (sometimes called High Speed). There are still some USB-1 disks selling and they are so slow they will drive your sister crazy if she’s playing with audio and video files (large).

Some external disk require external power (plugs into an AC outlet). For a portable laptop application this can be annoying (in class or on a airplane. etc.). If it was me I’d get her one that doesn’t require external power.

I am interested in buying one, but I don’t want to buy it only to be ripped off. Also, what laptop of theirs would you recommend?

Let’s address a few cherished myths from the MS Fanboy club.

Having a UNIX BSD base, OSX is a far more stable and secure system, and not prone to viruses. And for those who still insist on quoting that tired old myth about market share and viruses: UNIX varients are the most widely used operating systems outside the home, yet they suffer none of what windows suffers.

Apple does NOT make all the software for Macs. They make the operating system, the iLife suite (bundled with Macs), and a couple of others. I use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign Dreamweaver, Acrobat Pro), MS Office (Word, Excel, etc), and a smattering of other apps for my work. I have the same apps at home, plus a few dozen games, including the best sellers.

They’re very easy to upgrade, and come with pretty good hardware out of the box. The kind of set-up most PCs upgrade to. If you were to configure a PC to the same specs as an iMac or MacPro, and add comparable software that Apple includes, that PC would cost a little more than the Mac. You get what you pay for.

Peripherals are plug and play, and yes, Mac’s have come with multi-function mice for a few years now.

There are hundreds of periferals and upgrades available for many, many companies.

Macs can have multiple operating systems loaded. You can be running in native OSX, and run windowze through parallels (we have one at work doing this) so we can used the ONE PC app we need, that isn’t available for a Mac (Publisher).

I’ve used both systems. Windowze is clunky and bloated by comparison. A pain in the cyber-butt.

Apple innovates.
MS Imitates.

like hp or something i need windows vista
1500 to 1700 max

alienware computers are relly good
depending if money is an issue or not

well i’m planning to get a laptop soon. and i just wanna know what is the difference between all these? because i went onto staple’s (the store) website and saw these 3…so what is the difference?

Desktop – Top of the desk PC- The usual PCs with separate CPU, separate Monitor, etc.

Laptop – Top of the lap PC- Portable PC

Netbook – Book like PC- Basically a PC that is a smaller and less performing version of a laptop, also about the size of usual books.

I have worked with two magazine’s for work experience and there were only apple computers.

Just because design layout software is designed for Macs (QuarkxPress, Indesign), although it is available for PCs. Don’t be afraid of Macs, they’re easier to use than PCs & they look prettier!

I recently bought a windows vista operating system disc, and i was wondering if i can install that same disc to multiple computers?

if its original then only 1
if its not then as many as u wish

hope this helps u ^_^

my brother passed away about 3 years ago, and he would build computers. he left all these parts behind, and most of them i can see he paid a lot of money for. i dont want to just give them away but i dont need them piling up in my house. almost all of them i dont know what there for or what they do….

any ideas what to do with them? where could i sell computer parts?

The perfect answer here is Craigslist.com

Look, you wont make a fortune and someone will get a great deal, but hey, they didn’t cost you anything anyway and if you dint know exactly what you are selling you should expect to take less than average. Put the lot on Craigslist for whatever amount you think is fair and when people come to look listen to what they think is fair. All will be happy.

Sorry about your bro tho.
